Seeds of Harmony Wins First Place in the The Art League of Hilton Head’s 2013 Biennale Juried Exhibition

Seeds of Harmony  earned First Place in the 3D category at The Art League of Hilton Head’s 2013 Biennale Juried Exhibition. Paul E. Matheny, III Chief Curator of Art SC State Museum, was the show juror; selecting 95 pieces of artwork for the exhibit. The State Museum was voted one of the three top museums by Southeastern readers of Southern Living magazine, along with the High Museum in Atlanta and the Smithsonian Institution.

The State Museum has been voted Best Museum in the Midlands five years in a row by Columbia Metropolitan magazine, and was designated Best Museum of 2007 by the readers of the Free Times newspaper.

The exhibition event was held in conjunction with the Bravo Festival of the Arts sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. The exhibit was held at the Walter Greer Gallery in the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina on Hilton Head Island, SC and ran through June 1, 2013. Womb of Life Selected by Manhattan Arts International Juried Exhibit

Womb of Life, A Bronze Vessel  by Carol AllemanWomb of Life has been accepted into the Manhattan Arts International “Celebrate the Healing Power of Art” exhibit earning an Award of Excellence. This exhibition is designed to bring widespread awareness about the many positive benefits of Fine Art by showcasing a variety of interpretations, subject matter, styles and media that evoke the nature of healing in its many forms. The distinguished panel of jurors included: Jill Conner , Art Critic/Writer, Curator, Founder of AS, New York, NY -the New York Editor of Whitehot Magazine as well as the Editor of On-Verge | Alternative Art Criticism, a collaboration between the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) and CUE Art Foundation. Barbara Markoff, Art Consultant, owner of Artrageous!, and a corporate art consultant based in San Diego, CA; and Renée Phillips, Author, Founder/Director, Manhattan Arts International. Renée is founder and director of Manhattan Arts International. She is the author of several books and publications including the Artist Success Package, Presentation Power Tools for Fine Artists, Success NOW! For Artists, and several editions of The Complete Guide to New York Art Galleries. She writes for Professional Artist magazine, the Manhattan Arts International Celebrate The Healing Power of ART blog and Renée Phillips Art News blog. She has organized and curated more than 50 exhibitions in New York, NY in many venues including Lincoln Center. This is the 8th “Celebrate the Healing Power of ART” juried exhibition she has organized. The jurors made their selections based on how well the artists express the healing process through their art, on creative originality, and technical merit.
