Love Blooms will be included in the 2019, 40th Annual Crafts Exhibition at the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum. Fifty works – representing 13 states – were chosen for the exhibition from 214 works. The 2019 juror is Luiza deCamargo, Associate Curator at the Society of Arts and Crafts. The exhibition opens with a reception on February 8, 2019 from 7-10 Pm with musical entertainment by The Dusty Ramblers. The exhibit will be shown in the Dobson Main Gallery and runs through April 21, 2019.
Full Sun: American Women Artists Illuminate the Haggin is the exhibition title of the 2018 American Women Artists Master and Signature museum exhibition, and Womb of Life has been selected as a part of this exhibit. For this exhibition, members of American Women Artists (AWA) were asked to create artwork that was inspired by (or reflects) a selection of 13 paintingsfrom the Haggin Museum’s 19th – 20th-century art including works by William Merritt Chase, Albert Bierstadt, Rosa Bonheur, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and other notable artists. This juried exhibition includes nearly 100 pieces of artwork that include paintings and sculptures from notable women artists in North America and Canada. The exhibition opened August 2, 2018 and will continue through September 16, 2018. The Haggin Museum is located in Stockton, CA.
I submitted Womb of Life, in response to The Juniata River painting by George Inness. Womb of Life invites us to embrace EACH of life‘s events as our utter nourishment for growth, as we are held, protected, nourished and grown toward a new birth within the Womb of Life.
The 2017 exhibition, held at the Tucson Desert Art Museum, included 145 works of art created by women artists from the USA and Canada. Celestial Joy earned the Marilyn Newmark Foundation Award for Best Sculpture Done in an Academic Manner. We are are honored to receive this recognition and support the American Women Artists growing organization. Less than 5% of the artwork hanging in museums across the USA include work created by female artists….we hope to balance that historical reality.
Under a Vast Sky is the title of the 2017 American Women Artists Exhibit of both Signature and Master Artists and Juried Invitational Artists. The exhibit includes 145 works of some of the most talented women artists in America and Canada. The exhibit is being shown from October 13 – Dec 3, 2017 at the Tucson Desert Art Museum, 7000 Tanque Verde Road in Tucson AZ. This extraordinary display of exceptional talent is always an inspiring joy to see.

Celestial Joy is a part of the Signature Master portion of the exhibition this year.
Quiet Radiance has been selected by the 2017 jurors of the Mountain Oyster Club for inclusion in their annual art show. This show holds a highly esteemed, long-term reputation as one of the foremost shows of western contemporary art in our nation. The show opens with an artist and patron reception on November 18 and continues to be on exhibit through January 12, 2018.
Love Blooms has been accepted into two National Juried Exhibitions for the autumn of 2017:
Topeka Competition 33 in Topeka, Kansas and Viewpoint 49 in Cincinnati, Ohio. We are delighted with the recognition being received for this newer piece.
The Viewpoint 49 exhibition will take place at the Greenwich House Gallery. 2124 Madison Road, Cincinnatio, Ohio with an opening reception on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 7-10PM. The exhibition will run through November 4th and be open Monday-Saturday 11Am – 5 PM.
The Topeka Competition 33 exhibit will be held at the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery at 1515 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS. The opening reception and awards reception will be held November 12 from 1- 3 PM. Juror, Emily Williams (noted glass sculptress) will present the awards and discuss the pieces chosen for the exhibit. The exhibit will close January 7, 2018.
Opening May 11th from 3-8 PM the BROADMOOR Galleries, book ending the Broadmoor Hotel, in Colorado Springs, CO will host their 3rd Sculpture Show featuring the work of over 25 acclaimed sculptors. Carol will participate and be available through the subsequent week-end to meet and share with collectors and interested persons. It is rare for fine art galleries to present sculpture only shows these days and we are thrilled to be included in one with such distinguished and renown talent. Thursday through the week-end the gallery will be energetically buzzing with many of these sculptors present to meet and speak with visitors. This is a very unique opportunityto both see amazing works and to meet the artists as well. The Broadmoor Gallery is impeccable in its professionalism and integrity – they continuously create a very inviting, warm and engaging climate for browsing the collection without hovering. Gratitude Sold Out 2 Artist proofs Available 7.25″ x 6″ x 6″
This week we posted a new UTube video showing many of the steps in the very lengthy lost wax process of casting the bronze vessel titled Gratitude. The video shows a simplification of the process while touching on most of the essential steps in this lengthy process. It typically takes between 8 and 12 weeks for one piece to move entirely through this process. It is interesting to note that if a mistake is made during ANY of the many steps, it can quickly demand an entirely new casting – beginning with the pouring of a new wax positive form. For EACH vessel cast, a new wax must be both poured and thoroughly cleaned (technically “dressed”) including, for my particular work, the exterior, the interior and ALL the many vast cut out areas in between. Most bronze sculptures do not have a visible interior, dramatically decreasing the necessary time to thoroughly clean the wax. While the Gratitude vessel limited edition sold out many years ago, two Artist Proofs still remain available for purchase, and a second, more recent vessel featuring the California Poppy, Remembering Gratitude,is still an open edition and available for immediate purchase.
